🚨🚨Potential Baptism Incoming🚨🚨 (September 9-16)

Sorry for not writing in a while... I'm finding it harder and harder to find the motivation, for no reason.
Monday the 9th was good, because we were able to just be in Aitkin and we got to talk to family again. It had been a while since both Elder Layton and I had talked to family. We ended off the day going over to the Youngquist's and they are headed back to Utah this week, because they only live here in the summer. They are an awesome couple!

Tuesday we had lunch and service with Grandma Piecek. She has to move in November so we have been helping her clean out her basement. She is 93 so she can't really do it herself. After lunch with her, we came back to the apartment and had some scripture study, and got ready to go to our early dinner. We met up with him so he could give us a ride, but he wanted to do it right after work. So we ate at 4. At night after our early dinner, we walked on the popular bike path, because we figured we could talk to the dog-walkers, but we didn't really run into very many people. We got some great pictures though!

Wednesday we went down to Onamia, and had a lesson with Travis again, and we taught him the Gospel of Jesus Christ! And when we asked if he wanted to be baptized he had no hesitation and said he wanted to! His date is October 13th!

Friday we did a deep clean of our apartment and cleaned everything... like took apart the kitchen cupboards to wash and scrub em down. It will make the whole place easier to clean later. We ended off the day at Penny's. She made us some dinner, and then I picked up her dog poop in her yard for half an hour... nasty.

Saturday we had our apartment inspection and we passed with flying colors. Speaking of colors we made our bathroom Bright Hot Pink! Just because... also on Saturday we went to McDonald's and we saw Beau, Randy, and Ray again! I also talked to another guy there too, we keep talking to new people there it is awesome! We also did a little tracting and got two referrals from the people we talked to.

Sunday was Stake Conference and we watched it in our Branch building. There was probably about 80 people there! That's almost double the usual, and there were quite a few nonmembers friends there too. The technology didn't work to good, and the screen kept blacking out, but I hope the spirit of the General 70's talk helped them feel at peace even during the technology issues. Also Travis was there! After church we had some studies that were really good. It Helped remotivate me a lot. Then we watched the Face to face with Elder Soares and Christianson. It was okay, and again they had some technical difficulties. It just shows that even with distractions the spirit can be there.

Thanks for all the love and support!

Say bye to having Miles high! (September 2-9)

On Monday we were up in Grand Rapids for the day and we played a game called Villainous together and it was pretty fun, we also walked around to see what stores were open on Labor day, and that got boring fast, because with exception to a small gaming store nothing was open.

Tuesday we were able to help someone named Eric split and stack his wood. He had asked for missionary pamphlets way back in 2014 and he never got them. I had stopped by and gotten his number and he has been really friendly with us! After we helped him with his wood, he feed us some really good BLT's. He expressed with us how he has been unhappy with his past few religions because of the paid clergy. We told him about how everything in the church is voluntary even the missions. He asked a lot of questions, and I think he is searching for a church, that is great for his family. Lots of potential! After that we went to the youth Bowling Activity, and I did only slightly better than I thought I would. But it was fine because everyone else that I played with was just as bad!

Wednesday was a great day! We went down to Onamia and was able to teach Travis again! We invited him to pray of the things that we taught if they were true. He said that he wouldn't be meeting with us, if he didn't already believe what we taught. He then added, but I will also pray about it! He is so ready to hear the gospel! There are people ready everywhere you go! We then stopped by a couple of the members down there, but no one was home. We had dinner up in Crosby so we headed back up for dinner. We had a good dinner with the Elders Quorum President, and then we headed to Carlton. We had a 160 mile day! Lots of traveling.

Thursday we had interviews, and then I had a short exchange with Elder Smith a new missionary who recently came out and we had a really good time together. I have been thinking a lot about our different callings in the church, and how everyone is equally important in the church. The quote "weak and simple" of the church provide us just as much benefit as a general authority. It is important that we don't compare members in leadership or not to other members. We can help guide others to make better choices, but we need to accept that everyone has their issues and weaknesses. Never feel that you are less important than another, because you don't hold a calling or because they are better at teaching than you. You are important, and needed right were you are.
