The past couple weeks have been crazy!
Christmas was hype! For Zone Conference we watched the Polar Express, and that movie is straight ADHD but a Christmas movie. We memed around the whole movie! President Barney was glad that we enjoyed ourselves, and made the movie more funny. Christmas we spent at the Gauthier's house yet again. We started off by playing what do you meme, and that was a blast! Then we opened our presents together. And hooray! I got a bunch of Clothes! Only on my mission would I actually be excited about that lol! New Years was also a blast. We spent time with a lot of the Minneapolis Zone. We played a couple rounds of Secret Hitler and I'm probably a little to good at lying and deceit, but I'll say it's a talent, if used correctly, it will do great good. At least that what I tell myself.
A couple days ago, we did a service project and we worked on cars and cleaned this filthy garage in the Hood of North Minneapolis. A bunch of keyed cars, some of them shot up, and things, just things I really didn't think I would see. We dragged out 5 of engines that were around 300 hundred pounds. We are going back sometime next week.
In terms of missionary work, things are looking up! Marlon came to church yesterday and he wants to meet again on Friday. We and a couple other missionaries have been praying that he could have a better more stable living situation, and he just got a stable job, and paid off his phone bill! So now he is making money, and we can contact him consistently! We lost contact for a couple weeks with him, and we thought we would never hear from again, but he called us and said he missed meeting with us, and how he got his phone paid off now. Such a miracle! We may set him on date next week, please keep him in your prayers. Facebook finding is actually working here in this area too, which is nice, because I don't like walking around North Minneapolis at night.
We were also able to teach Alonzo and set up a consistent time to meet with him. He is 14, and searching for answers. He claims to be agnostic, but he still believes in God. He wants to come to church and become converted, but he doesn't know how. It has been an incredible experience for my companion, because he is truly fit to teach this individual.
I will try to get back into writing weekly's, it's been a crazy couple weeks.
